Alabama Comic Con 2023: What you’ll pay for autographs & photos with the biggest stars

Fans of “Breaking Bad,” “Sons of Anarchy” and the “Twilight” movies will want to be at Alabama Comic Con this year. Giancarlo Espositio (Gus Fring!), Ron Perlman (Clay Morrow!) and Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen!) are among the celebrities scheduled to appear at the event, Sept. 23-24 in downtown Birmingham.

Wrestling greats such as Sting, Kevin Nash, Mick Foley and Diamond Dallas Page are on the lineup, as well. More than 30 special guests — including comic book artists, voice actors and cosplay experts — are set for the con, which takes place at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex, 2100 Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd. North.

Fans can take selfies with their favorite stars, and get autographs and professional photos, too. There’s usually a price for these services, so here’s the fee list for 14 of the biggest names at Alabama Comic Con 2023.

GIANCARLO ESPOSITO

Where you’ve seen him: Esposito, 65, is an Emmy-nominated actor who earned fame for playing Gus Fring, a calm-and-cool villain on AMC’s “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul.” He also portrays the evil Moff Gideon in the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian.” Esposito has a long list of movie and TV credits, including roles in “The Usual Suspects,” “Do the Right Thing,” “Malcolm X,” “Waiting to Exhale,” “Ali,” the “Maze Runner” franchise, “Homicide: Life on the Street,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Dear White People” and “The Boys.”

What you’ll pay: Esposito will be at Alabama Comic Con on Saturday and Sunday, Sept 23-24. Prices are $80 for autographs, $60 for selfies, $120 for an autograph/selfie combo. It’s $90 for professional photo ops.

Ron Perlman

RON PERLMAN

Where you’ve seen him: Perlman, 73, starred in three “Hellboy” movies and won a Golden Globe for playing Vincent, a noble man-beast in the TV series “Beauty and the Beast.” He also had a major role in the FX series “Sons of Anarchy,” playing biker boss Clay Morrow. Perlman’s long list of movie credits ranges from “Quest for Fire” to “Star Trek: Nemesis” to “Hell on the Border” (which was filmed in Alabama). He’s been in demand as a voice actor for many years, voicing characters on animated TV series and video games.

What you’ll pay: Perlman will be at Alabama Comic Con on Saturday, Sept. 23. Prices are $60 for autographs, $60 for selfies, $100 for an autograph/selfie combo. It’s $70 for professional photo ops.

Sting

STING

Where you’ve seen him: Sting (also known as Steve Borden, 64) is a legendary figure in the world of professional wrestling, famed for his black-and-white face paint, piercing war cry and multiple championships as the face of World Championship Wrestling (WCW). He’s also a member of the WWE Hall of Fame and TNA Hall of Fame. After four decades in the ring, Sting remains a draw for All Elite Wrestling (AEW). His signature moves include the Stinger splash.

What you’ll pay: Sting will be at Alabama Comic Con on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Prices are $60 for autographs, $60 for selfies, $100 for an autograph/selfie combo. (Pre-sale tickets can be purchased here.) It’s $70 for professional photo ops.

Peter Facinelli

PETER FACINELLI

Where you’ve seen him: Facinelli, 49, is known to movie fans as Carlisle Cullen, a benevolent vampire in five “Twilight” films. He also was a standout on the Showtime series “Nurse Jackie,” playing Dr. Fitch “Coop” Cooper. Facinelli has appeared in TV series such as “Fastlane,” “Six Feet Under,” “Glee,” “Damages,” “Supergirl” and “S.W.A.T.” His movie credits include “Gangster Land,” “Finding Amanda” and “Can’t Hardly Wait.” He’s also the writer and director of “The Vanished,” which was filmed in Alabama.

KEVIN NASH

Where you’ve seen him: Nash, 64, is an icon in professional wrestling, winning more than 20 championships during his years with WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), WCW (World Championship Wrestling) and TNA (Total Nonstop Action Wrestling). He’s also a two-time WWE Hall of Famer. Nash has an acting career, as well, appearing in films such as the “Magic Mike” franchise, “John Wick,” “Rock of Ages” and Channing Tatum’s “Dog.”

What you’ll pay: Nash will be at Alabama Comic Con on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 23-24. Prices are $50 for autographs (plus $10 to sign belts or figures), $50 for selfies, $80 for an autograph/selfie combo. It’s $60 for professional photo ops.

Lou Diamond Phillips

LOU DIAMOND PHILLIPS

Where you’ve seen him: Phillips, 61, earned fame in 1987, starring as Richie Valens in “La Bamba.” He was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in “Stand and Deliver,” and appeared in movies such as “Young Guns,” “Courage Under Fire” and “Route 666.” His TV credits include “Stargate Universe,” “Longmire,” “Southland,” “Blue Bloods” and “Elena of Avalor.” Phillips also has performed on Broadway, earning a Tony nomination for his work in a revival of “The King and I.”

Where you’ve seen him: Rivera, 62, is best known for playing Marcus Alvarez in the FX series “Sons of Anarchy” and its spin-off series, “Mayans M.C.” He has many movie and TV credits, including roles in “Con Air,” “Bruce Almighty,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Weeds,” “Z Nation” and “On My Block.”

Where you’ve seen him: Rossi, 48, is known for playing Juan Carlos “Juice” Ortiz on the FX series “Sons of Anarchy.” He had a major role in the 2022 crime thriller “Emily the Criminal” and has appeared in movies such as “Lowriders” and “Bad Hurt.” Rossi’s TV credits include “Luke Cage,” “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Boston Public” and “Lost.”

Where you’ve seen him: Page, 67, earned his fame in the professional wresting world, under the name Diamond Dallas Page or DDP. His career spanned two decades, was marked by several championships and included successful stints with World Championship Wrestling (WCW), World Wrestling Federation (WWF, later WWE) and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). His signature moves included the Diamond Dream and Diamond Bomb/Jersey Bomb. After his retirement from wrestling, Page developed a fitness program, DDP Yoga.

Where you’ve seen him: Foley, 58, is a longtime star in professional wrestling, competing under his real name and personas such as Mankind and Cactus Jack. He won championships aplenty, and was affiliated with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) and National Wrestling Alliance (NWA). Foley has acting credits in movies and TV, has published successful memoirs and appeared as a standup comedian and storyteller.

Where you’ve seen her: DeLisle, 50, is a voice actress, comedian and singer-songwriter. She has been the voice of Daphne Blake in “Scooby-Doo” cartoons since 2000, and voiced Azula in “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” Since 2019, she has voiced Martin Prince and Sherri and Terri on “The Simpsons.” According to her website, DeLisle (also known as Grey Griffin) has performed more than 1,500 cartoon voices since 1996.

What you’ll pay: DeLisle will be at Alabama Comic Con on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 23-24. Where you’ve seen him: Korsmo, 45, acted during his childhood, most notably playing the Kid in “Dick Tracy,” the 1990 movie starring Warren Beatty. He also played Jack Banning in Steven Spielberg’s 1991 “Hook,” alongside Robin Williams, Julia Roberts and Dustin Hoffman. Korsmo earned a bachelor’s degree in physics from MIT in 2000, and a law degree from Yale University in 2006. He’s now a professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law.

Where you’ve seen him: Jones, 63, is an actor and mime artist, known for his work with director Guillermo del Toro in movies such as “The Shape of Water” (where he played the mysterious Amphibian Man), the “Hellboy” franchise, “Pan’s Labyrinth” and “Crimson Peak.” Since 2017, Jones has played Commander Saru in the Paramount+ series “Star Trek: Discovery.” His long list of movie and TV credits includes roles in “Hocus Pocus” and “Hocus Pocus 2,” “The Strain,” “Falling Skies,” “The Outer Limits,” What We Do in the Shadows” and “Better Things.”

Alabama Comic Con takes place on Sept. 23-24 at the BJCC Exhibition Halls, 2100 Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd. North in Birmingham. Doors open at 10 a.m. both days; closing time is 6 p.m. Saturday, 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $40 daily, $70 for both days through Sept. 21; $50 daily, $80 for both days starting Sept 22. Members of the military will pay $30 for a day pass, $50 for both days. Admission is free for kids age 10 and younger.
